Applied Data Science Pilot Program Delivers Practical Skills to 12 BWXT Employees

Developed as a pilot program by staff from IALR’s Center for Manufacturing Advancement (CMA), the 300-hour program helped upskill engineers into data science practitioners.

In Other News

  • Wesley Cifers, a professional machinist and educator, has been named the Managing Director of the ATDM program, effective July 1. 

  • The full program for the CEA Summit East, which will include four primary tracks and some sessions hosted in the CEA Innovation Center, has been unveiled. This event will take place at IALR on Sept. 15-16.

  • Jacob Taylor, who has been with GO TEC since its inception nearly seven years ago, has been named Interim Director of GO TEC, effective July 1. 

  • Jason Wells spoke about the success and impact of the ATDM program on the Manufacturing Talks Podcast with Jim Vinoski. The episode, titled "Tackling the Skilled Trades Gap for the Defense Industry," is available wherever you get podcasts. 

  • ATDM Discovery Day gave nearly 100 guests, including prospective students, school counselors, and representatives from various workforce service organizations, a look inside the ATDM program.
