ExTRA Supports Creation of New Apprenticeship Programs

Charlotte County Rescue Squad recently launched an EMT apprenticeship program, and Bisbee Honda in Danville launched an automotive technician youth apprenticeship, the first youth apprenticeship in Danville.

Registration is now open for engaging, hands-on STEM Camps at IALR. These camps allow students to explore STEM concepts through memorable activities.


Opportunities are available for students in kindergarten through 9th grade. The registration cost for the majority of camps is $175.

Events and Opportunities 

  • Register for the upcoming Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner hosted at the IALR Conference Center on May 30.

  • Spots are filling up quickly for computer workshops for programs like Microsoft Excel and Canva. General admission is $35 for these three-hour, introductory courses.

  • The Wonder Community of Lifelong Learning is hosting a workshop around Deep Listening and Radical Vulnerability on May 24 from 1-3 p.m.

  • Imani Winds, a Grammy Award-winning American wind quintet based in New York City, will be performing at the IALR Conference Center on Friday, May 16. This event is hosted by the Danville Concert Association.
